Save Money On Branded Clothing Through Wholesale

By Chris Channing | July 17, 2010

Wholesale clothing is the first thing everyone looks to when they want a lot of stock, but do not want to pay the high prices that come with some American companies. One can pay $200 and more for a single pair of True Religion jeans, for example, and wholesale seems to be the solution.

Websites such as the auction marketplace eBay are great places to start out when looking to sell in wholesale. The prices on eBay are also lower than what you would find with an actual wholesale agency, since you are buying from a person and not a corporation. The only bad part of the operation is that you could get burned if you don’t check the feedback and history of the seller.

Authentic wholesale gear is obtained at a greater cost than gear that is considered only to be an imitation. The first choice you must make, as the entrepreneur, is whether or not you want to buy authentic wholesale items. If you do, you have the benefit of selling “the real deal.” Buying imitation gear could give off a bad reputation to your customers.

Sample shipments can be delivered if you are wary of a certain wholesale company. Any company that deals as a third party should be tested before committing to a large order. Otherwise you could be stuck with a shipment of clothing that was not near what you wanted. And because the company may not be within your country, nothing can be done at that point.

Consult review websites first, if you plan on buying from a specific website. A website that tends to not deliver will get bad reviews all around the Internet. Just a little looking around will tell you if the company is legit, sends good quality clothing, and has a friendly support system. If the company is not located in your country, you won’t be able to do anything if you aren’t satisfied with the product.

Representatives should be able to speak in the language that you are familiar with. It can be tricky talking to a company that is not based in your area because of communication barriers. If you are not able to communicate, you will not be able to receive support. While you are talking to the assistant, also ask about the company and how long it has been in business to verify its credibility.

In Conclusion

Wholesale is a method of finding clothes at a great price- usually to resell for a profit. Just keep in mind that not everyone is going to have your best interests in mind, and that “fake” imitations might not sell very well if you plan on selling them.
