The city of Thousand Oaks is located in southeastern Ventura County in the state of California. The city was named after the many oak trees that grace the area, with the city seal adorned with an oak, and is commonly referred to as “T.O.” by residents. The city occupies an area of 142.5 square kilometers and rests on an elevation of 270 m above sea level. The climate of Thousand Oaks is categorized as a mild, year-round Mediterranean climate or Dry-Summer Subtropical zone climate. The economy of the city is centered on a small range of businesses, mostly biotechnology, electronics, automotive, aerospace, telecommunications, health care, and financing. The ideal location, inviting climate, country setting and attractive living conditions combine to make Thousand Oaks one of the most attractive living areas in Southern California.
Chelmsford is the county town of Essex, England, and the principal settlement of the borough of Chelmsford. The town can be found in the commuter belt of London and has an estimated population of approximately 120,000. Chelmsford was one of the original settlements of the Romans in Great Britain. Many commuters in the town have jobs in the financial sector of London, while the town itself has been an important hub for industry since the 19th century, especially in telecommunications, electrical engineering, and rolling bearings. Chelmsford is also attributed to be the birthplace of radio because it was in the town that the first wireless factory was founded by Guglielmo Marconi. Chelmsford has a warmer climate than most of the United Kingdom and experiences some of the hottest summers in Britain.
